The HR team is celebrating a double award win at the Public Sector Personnel Management Association (PPMA) Awards, winning Commercialisation in HR and Best Social Media Recruitment Campaign of the Year.
The president of PPMA Caroline Nugent commented that the standard of entries was outstanding this year making judging a real challenge. The Public Sector has enormous challenges, the award submissions showcase the talent and innovation in our HR Service.
In winning the Commercialisation in HR award the schools’ HR team evidenced their trading offer to the Education sector and how they have expanded this service. Most notably, 100% of maintained schools have remained with the service in the face of strong competition. Securing business with independent, early years, academies and multi-academy trusts has also been key to the team’s success.
Haroon Rashid, Commercial Lead for HR commented on the win: “We have made great progress in our commercial offer in the past few years and we are proud to receive the award in recognition of this. Our team deliver a great service that is praised and relied on by our customers, that is the core of our commercial offer; doing what we do well. We are ambitious and are expanding the range of services and our geographical reach, with exciting times ahead”.
Social media is an increasing feature in Resourcing Solutions’ approach to attracting candidates for our hard to fill roles.
The campaign we featured in our award submission was for Facilities Management, when recruiting for cleaners and caretakers using Mop and Key characters in social media postings. The campaign targeted local communities reaching 63,080 local people and generated 19 applications for the campaign which the service previously failed to fill. The campaign took an informal, fun approach creating personalities for Key and Mop, encouraging viewers to engage with them and help them stop being lonely!
The campaigns have received great feedback:
“Love this. A vast improvement on the usual jargon filled ads. Well done for having a sense of humour.”
Commenting on the award, Sarah France-Gorton, Principal Adviser, Resourcing Solutions said: “Resourcing Solutions are very proud to have received the award and commendations in recognition for our work in the Sector and we are excited about developing fresh approaches in partnership with services and our commercial clients. Resourcing is a key challenge for the authority; it is increasingly difficult to find the local and professional talent to fill the roles that provide vital services in our communities. We use a vast range of resourcing techniques to reach target audiences, provide a compelling offer to encourage applications and move with agility to secure scarce talent.”
Justine Brooksbank – Assistant Chief Executive Business Support commented: “Submitting applications for awards is not something that has historically come naturally; however in an increasingly commercial landscape it is important that we are outward facing, and measure ourselves against others. I am delighted that our teams have been recognised for their excellence, they work hard and push the boundaries; these awards recognise this”.
