Inclusive Education Service

Specialist support

Our Inclusive Education Service is professional, experienced and high quality. Consisting of a range of specialist support and provision including highly qualified staff, our service enhances the work of schools, colleges and early year settings, supporting their inclusion of children and young people who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Working in partnership with schools to promote inclusion and achievement, we aim to secure better outcomes for children and young people with SEND across North Yorkshire and beyond.

Benefits for your organisation

Working with individual schools, clusters, alliances and trusts as well as individual children and young people, our service has been developed with you and your school in mind.

Built on the foundation of helping children and young people to achieve their full potential, by working with us; schools, parents and carers will gain confidence and a better understanding of their children's needs.

The Service offers a range of specialist areas providing consultancy, training, advice and individually tailored packages. We are able to support with the following areas:

The Reading Intervention Programme (TRIP) is an internationally recognised intervention which produces substantial gains in reading.

TRIP is highly personalised programme for children from years one to nine.
It involves linking the teaching of reading with the development of a child’s phonological and phonic skills.

The Programme covers:

  • Why some children find learning to read challenging
  • What is phonics
  • How to undertake in-depth assessments, including how to take a running record
  • Multi-sensory, fun, teaching strategies to enable the CYP to become an independent reader
  • How to plan each teaching session so the child makes rapid progress.

Pre and post assessments to demonstrate impact

The Service is able to support schools and settings in managing behaviour and Restrictive Physical Intervention (RPI). We are able to support raising staff awareness in relation to the statutory duties and guidance to manage challenging behaviour.
