We live up to our motto providing an exceptional range of outdoor learning opportunities to motivate and inspire your students – and staff! Our main residential centres at Bewerley Park and East Barnby enable access to our unique North Yorkshire countryside and a full range of outdoor adventurous activities and field study. Our astonishingly able staff team work in partnership with you to develop and deliver the learning outcomes you wish for your students. We aim to exceed your expectations; to skilfully provide experiences that engage, challenge and act as a catalyst for learning, positive personal development, growth and change.

For over 75 years we have been at the heart of outdoor learning in North Yorkshire, providing a high quality service for schools and businesses alike.

Benefits for your organisation

We deliver high quality courses for teachers, individuals, corporate groups and a wide range of residential and day courses for Early Years settings, Primary and Secondary Schools through to higher education, Youth and adult groups.

We are highly inclusive, skilled at including participants with additional needs. We regularly surprise people by overcoming perceived barriers to enable adventurous participation.

Our team is experienced and trained to the highest standard, from outdoor practitioners, office, catering and facility staff, all work as one to make sure we provide the best service.

All our centres are inspected by the Adventurous Activities Licensing Authority and we are fully licensed to deliver each activity we offer.

We can provide:

  • Accommodation with full or partial catered options
  • Camping space
  • Presentation and Conference facilities
  • Full residential activity programme from 1 night or 2 days
  • Day activities

We will develop your programme to deliver your aims and the learning outcomes you wish. We have an incredible range of activities and venues available through which to explore and learn. Our skilled staff will ensure the right balance of encouragement, nurture and challenge to bring the best out of your students. They constantly monitor and interact with students, setting and reviewing both personal and group targets, wider expectations and to maximise the quality of reflection and learning.

Our team are experts in facilitating learning about our local environment and heritage helping students interpret their surroundings. The residential aspect adds a further dimension to the learning opportunities on offer. Students – in partnership with school staff – are encouraged to be independent and responsible for themselves, their kit and peers, further building resilience, personal and social skills.

We get many visitors and comments from parents, grandparents and even great grandparents who came to our centres when they were at school and still class it as a transformation key moment in their lives. Pass on this North Yorkshire Right of Passage!
