Helping you to promote and sustain continuous improvement

The large North Yorkshire advisory team offers a full range of school improvement services both within and outside North Yorkshire.  Our specialist advisers have extensive experience as teachers, headteachers, inspectors and senior school leaders, as well as established and productive links with national institutions – which enable our team  to remain at the cutting edge of educational developments.

We are absolutely committed to helping schools and settings to continue to improve the quality of teaching, learning and leadership at all levels. Our courses and consultancy reflect our commitment to delivering high quality professional development which is value for money and will have a sustainable impact in schools and settings.

Benefits for your organisation

We will work in partnership with you to strive for outstanding leadership and teaching, with the highest aspirations for all children and young people.

Our tailored programmes will meet your school’s needs, with 24/7 access to curriculum resources through the online resource portal.

Work with experienced and trusted specialists in the delivery of training and consultancy, including national and internationally recognised educational professionals.

All services can be delivered in the most effective way to meet your school’s needs, ranging from one to one coaching, to the delivery of conferences and larger events.

The core purpose of the North Yorkshire School Improvement Service is to promote and sustain continuous improvement in the quality of education at all phases. For this reason, our advisers can respond rapidly to requests for information and guidance, adding value to their delivery of training or coaching.  Training course delegates and schools who have received bespoke support receive convenient and timely online access to course materials and resources as appropriate.

The North Yorkshire School Improvement Service hosts a wide range of highly regarded training courses for school leaders, teachers and classroom practitioners in many convenient venues.  Our professional programme of events is relevant to colleagues working all phases of education, from Early Years through to Post-16.

Examples of some of the training we provide:

  • Leadership and management at all levels
  • Governance support
  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) support
  • Educational visits
  • Safeguarding, health and well being
  • Minority ethnic achievement support

Bespoke consultancy, coaching, support and training specially tailored to meet your school’s specific needs and phase of education can be delivered by experienced specialists from the North Yorkshire advisory team. Through our work in many local authority areas, we have gained invaluable depth and breadth of experience as high quality practitioners, school leaders and inspectors.

To ensure the maximum benefits for all schools and settings, we ensure our work is relevant to your particular needs and context. Typically this means providing CPD for groups of staff or governors, meeting with individual senior or middle leaders, working in the classroom with teachers and teaching assistants, or leading sessions for parents. Our bespoke consultancy is often designed in discussion with the school, enabling us to approach challenging circumstances with appropriate sensitivity.

For your convenience, our on-site sessions can be provided to suit your timetable: full day, half day, or shorter sessions either during or after school. Much of our tailored support involves working closely with one school over an extended period of time, but we also provide many one-off activities, either for a single school or for a group of schools.
